Our Junior Room consists of 17 places for children aged 3 years to 4 years. An Advanced Diploma trained Room Leader with an assistant educator makes up the educator to child ratio.
Strategies to build on self-help, independent skills are implemented with fun activities. A professional music lesson each week is part of the curriculum.
Self-selection throughout the day encourages children to be in control of their own learning. Routine group times and structure form part of the learning environment, allowing children to work collaboratively with their peers and build upon their relationships in this area.
Social skills are promoted as an integral component of the Early Years Learning Framework, building on children’s knowledge, skills and interests to create the daily program.
Above all, creativity is fostered in all aspects of the program. Programs are designed to extend on the children's interests and exploration with mathematics, literacy, the arts, physical play, investigation and science as well as the different developmental areas that foster each child's growth.
The program incorporates sustainability practices enabling the children to become environmentally understanding, giving them the skills to respond to the world around them.
The children are encouraged to express themselves in socially and emotionally appropriate ways. This helps them foster and extend on their relationships with their friends and educators.
